Wow this is probley the greatest movie of all time and it shows. This movie has probley made it to one of my favorite movies but not my favorite. Plus this movie is from the 1942 which makes it more interesting. Now I know why this is a the best movie ever.
The movie is about Rick Blaine an american who's owns a bar that is the hot spot in Casablanca which is unoccupied Africa during the early years of world war 2. Rick who's a former freedom fighter but always on the losing side and fight for the underdog. Rick makes friends with the french capatain who's A corrupt Vichy official, named Renault accommodates the Nazis.in town which play a major part towards the end. Couple years earlier when Rick owned a bar and was a weapons seller in Paris He falls in love with young lady who lost her Husband in the war. When the germany invaded paris Rick must leave and asks his lover to come with but she can't in the end and rick and his piano player Sam also rick best friend. Now in the present time His past comes back when is lover comes to casablanca with her suppose dead husband who's a renowned Czech Resistance leader. Two might find a way to go to America. Rick who given letters of transit from a friend that the captain arrests. The letters play big part in the movie because his former lover needs them so she might talk to him and convice him to give her them and also her husband offered Rick a bunch of money for them. I will not ruin the ending but everyone knows the ending.
well I give this movie a 10 because it just has every thing a movie needs to succeed like Famous lines and fun quotes. This is a future rental and it has every thing love and war. Perfect date movie. Movie stars the one and only Humphrey Bogart and his costar is the lovely Ingrid Bergman and music artist Dooley Wilson . so I will end with some quotes from the movie.
Captain Renault: In 1935, you ran guns to Ethiopia. In 1936, you fought in Spain, on the Loyalist side.
Rick: I got well paid for it on both occasions.
Captain Renault: The *winning* side would have paid you *much better*.
Ilsa: Play it once, Sam. For old times' sake.
Sam: [lying] I don't know what you mean, Miss Ilsa.
Ilsa: Play it, Sam. Play "As Time Goes By."
Sam: [lying] Oh, I can't remember it, Miss Ilsa. I'm a little rusty on it.
Ilsa: I'll hum it for you. Da-dy-da-dy-da-dum, da-dy-da-dee-da-dum...
[Sam begins playing]
Ilsa: Sing it, Sam.
Sam: [singing] You must remember this / A kiss is still a kiss / A sigh is just a sigh / The fundamental things apply / As time goes by. / And when two lovers woo, / They still say, "I love you" / On that you can rely / No matter what the future brings-...
Rick: [rushing up] Sam, I thought I told you never to play-...
Now the two most famous quotes from the movie
Rick: All right, I will. Here's looking at you, kid. and the last line of the movie
Rick: Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
well this has been Casey. I hope your enjoyed this review.

Takers
This movie is very intersting because the name kinda of said what it's about. But this movie stars everyone favorite I hit my GF and went to jail, Chris Brown. When I was in line to this there was big line up and me and my friends had no idea why. Until I find out that Chris Brown was in it. What so important about him that makes people wanted see a movie with him. He's no Cloney, Hanks,Damon or Will farell these are the only people i see a movie because they are in it and there are other actors like the people I said before.
The movie is about 5 friends who rob banks for money and became rich. Then a former member who was just let go from jail comes to them and tells them to help him rob a bunch of armored cars with money in them acutally the most money they will ever take. There also a story about the cop who is trying to track them down and arrested them and the cop is a crocky cop who doesn't follow rules and gets into trouble often. As the movie goes on the russian mob gets involved because Ghost the former member makes a deal with them that they get most of the money instead of the gang who did most of the work and they huge gun fight scence involing the two groups.
I gives this movie an 8 because I like the thrill of it and the gun fighting scences were interesting but the problem was that this movies copy most of it gun fight scences from other movies. As my friend put this way The Ending was brutal which equal bad if you don't know. If you wanted to see an okay movie with guns scences see this. One other thing was one of the other thing was when Chris Brown kills a cop everyone was clapping and like yeah. Is this what society is now being happy when I cop dies?
well this has been Casey.I hope you enjoy this review.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
This movie is okay movie but I thought it would be better because it has an okay casting and interesting plot that I never thought that could be possible. The movie title also interesting cause when you think of the title what type of movie is this is it an action movie or an comendy or etc.
The plot is that the main character Scott Pilgrim who's dating an high school girl named Knives Chau and she really loves him but Scott has a dream about this mystery girl named Ramona Flowers. He finally meet her and believes that she the women of his dreams and the perfect girl for him but was he surely wrong. We found out that to date her he must face her seven evil ex and kill them and once he finish kill them he recevied coins, which to this day I have no idea how that realate to the story. But we also find out that Scott in band called SOB and that his Ex is famous singer and is in town for some odd reason which I can't tell you unless you saw the movie. Ramona 7 ex's are the most unusally ex I'll say. The movie has some funny scences in it. plus scott lives with a gay guy who stoles the spotlight in some scences espically when the evil ex's appear.
I give the movie an 8 because it made me laugh,it made me have tears in my eyes towards the end but happy ones. Some amazing scences and quotes. the music is an amazing with songs by Sex Bob-Omb by the band in the movie,Plumtree,Frank Black, Beachwood Sparks, the Black Lips,Crash and the Boys, T.Rex,The Bluetones,The sea Blood Red Shoes,Metric, Broken Social Scene,The Rolling Stones,Beck. This is the perfect Date movie because he focus on relationships no not really but it is I don't know why but it is. Well this as been Casey. hope you enjoy this review.plus Please this movie if you like funny movies.plus this was flimed in TO AKA Toronto.

A History Of Violence
Just by hearing the title, you might think that this movie is a documentary about violence. First off that’s impossible. Secondly, it is anything but. On the box it said “one of the best movies of the year”, and it was definitely that good.
The movie is about a family man named Tom Stall played by Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings, the Road, and Eastern Promises). He lives with his wife and his two children in a small town in Indiana. One night while Tom was trying to close up his diner, two men hold up the place at gunpoint. Tom fights off the two men and kills them both with their gun.
Soon after Tom’s heroic act receives huge media coverage. Everybody tries to interview him. After seeing all this coverage and recognizing the main who claimed to be “Tom Stall”, Carl Fogarty played by Ed Harris (The Rock, The Truman Show, and Pollock) goes to Indiana to visit him. Carl is an Irish mobster from Philadelphia who was almost killed by “Tom Stall” and has come to harass him and his family and bring him back to Philly to visit the bosses. Tom must balance the pressure of Carl and his family who start to doubt him.
Right from the start, this movie was solid. The cast had no real A-list stars but it still was perfect. Each actor did their job to perfection. The story was great. Is this Tom Stall really who he says he is or is the Irish mobster right about his alternate life. There are no real twists and turns but that’s now what this movie is about. It’s about connecting to the characters and realizing the problems they are facing. There is this sub plot about Tom’s son getting bullied at school and then he decides to fight back. I really liked that part. It was subtle but perfect for the movie. In my opinion it put the movie over the top.
If you want something suspenseful this might not be for you. If you are in the mood for a good movie, definitely see it. There is no way you will be disappointed. I don’t necessarily know if its one of the best of movies of the year like the box said but it could be the case. This movie is great. See it.

The Other Guys
I have to admit that Will Ferrell is my favorite comedic actor. His new comedy, The Other Guys, is solid. It’s definitely funny but not as great as some of his other movies.
The Other Guys is about two flawed police detectives. The first is Allen Gamble, played by Will Ferrell (Talladega Nights, Step Brothers).Gamble is a former college Pimp turned police accountant who spends most of his time doing deskwork and auditing people. Terry Hoitz, played by Mark Wahlberg (Shooter, The Departed) is this constantly angry cop after he shot Derek Jeter several years ago and he has troubles with his girlfriend.
After the two hot-shot cops die jumping off a building, Gamble and Hoitz, The Other Guys, become the main attraction after they stumble upon a huge case that involves a wealthy businessman, robbery, and a potential billion dollar scam. When their captain and everyone else discourage them from pursuing this case, the Other Guys don’t listen and attempt to solve the case of their careers.
First off, the cast is outstanding. Besides Ferrell and Wahlberg, the cast includes Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan, Eva Mendes, Damon Wayans Jr, Rob Riggle, Samuel L Jackson and Dwayne the Rock Johnson. Everyone hits their roles perfectly. Mendes plays the hot wife, Wayans and Riggle play the rival detectives, but obviously Ferrell is the centerpiece. Every scene he’s in is a laugh out loud situation while Whalberg’s character aside from playing his partner, is there to put Ferrell in situations where he can be funny.
The one problem I had with this movie is the story. Throughout the movie, they attempt to try to unveil what’s going on but it’s never actually clear until the last 5 minutes. Usually comedies tend to have simple stories that are clear but this isn’t the case. Even with movies like Anchorman and The Hangover, the storyline is clear so in this respect the movie failed. I heard somewhere that the movie didn’t know how to end and in that regard I totally agree.
If you planed on seeing this movie for the story, don’t. But that’s not what this movie is about. Go see it for the jokes, gags and cast. Every scene is hilarious. You won’t stop laughing the whole movie. This isn’t the greatest comedy of the year, not even close. That award goes to Get Him to the Greek. The Other Guys is probably in the top 5 somewhere with Hot Tub Time Machine, Dinner for Schmucks and Grown Ups. If comedies are your thing, definitely check it out. If you’re going to the theatre, go see it because it’s probably the best movie showing now. It’s hilarious but doesn’t bring much depth in the story.

One Week
If there is ever a film that embodies Canada, One Week is definitely that film. It was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to see this film, and now I am glad that I finally got the chance.
The film starts off with Ben Tyler, played by Joshua Jackson (Dawson’s creek, Fringe), in the doctor’s office. He is informed that he has stage four cancer and that there is no timetable for when he can die. When he tells his fiancée , played by Liane Balaban( Last Chance Harvey, Definitely Maybe), she instantly insists that he do whatever treatment possible but instead, Ben informs her that rather then take the treatment, he is going on a road trip to western Canada with the motorcycle he had just bought because he isn’t ready to become a patient yet.
What follows is Ben’s journey Across Canada. From Toronto to Vancouver, Ben visits tons of landmarks along the way. Ben has this fascination with “world’s biggest” things so he stops to see plenty of these landmarks. At one point, the Stanley Cup even makes a special appearance in the film. Throughout the trip Ben has several epiphanies and starts putting his life in to perspective.
Right off the top, I’m going to take a page from a typical review of Daniel’s reviews and marvel at the use of scenery. The locations were stunning. This movie shows some of Canada’s great landmarks. The visuals of Ben on his motorcycle with the great Canadian landscape in the background is what made this film great. I have never seen a movie show more of a conscious effort to utilize the location of filming more than this film. The way they used Canada to tell the story was amazing.
The acting is perfect for this film. Joshua Jackson does a stellar job as the main character in this film. He hits the emotional parts and the serious parts equally well. Liane Balaban did what she needed to do as the caring fiancée. The one problem I had with the film is the narrator in the film. The voice was about as dull as you can get. In my opinion they should’ve went with like a Tim Robbins or Samuel L Jackson.
I have to say this film is great and I absolutely loved it. It is far and away the best Canadian film I have ever seen. Everything in this film is Canadian. The actors, the music, and even the landscape are all Canadian. It is such a great movie. The ending could’ve been better, but it wasn’t that bad. Whatever you do, see this film. Rent it, buy it. If your Canadian, it’s a must see.

Dinner for Schmucks
The next big comedy of the summer, Dinner for Schmucks didn’t really live up to the expectations put forth by the title and the cast.
Dinner for Schmucks is about Tim Conrad, played by Paul Rudd (Anchorman, Role Models, and I Love You Man). Tim is an executive at a company. After a fellow employee got fired, Tim is in line for a promotion. All he has to do is bring an “Idiot” to his boss’s house for a monthly supper. Each person brings an “Idiot” and then they make fun of them. At the end of the night the biggest “idiot” wins a trophy. When Tim’s wife finds out about what he’s doing, she decides to leave him.
Here’s where all the fun starts happening. On the way to work one day Tim meets Barry, played by Steve Carell (Date Night, 40 year old Virgin, Dan in Real Life). Barry works for the IRS but on the side, he collects dead mice and dresses them up. Barry is also completely an “idiot”. So Tim decides to invite Barry as his guest to the supper.
From a comedy standpoint, this movie worked well. There were a lot of funny jokes. From a plot script standpoint, it wasn’t that good. The movie is based on a successful French film so staying true is always a challenge, but the script should’ve been better. I would’ve made the supper the focus of the movie instead of an afterthought. It is as though they made the first hour, realized they hadn’t filmed the dinner scene which is basically the title, and then decided to film it.
The supporting cast was really good but there was one huge mistake. Zach Galifianakis was severely underused. The biggest comedy hit of the past 5 years should’ve been. He was in like 2 or 3 scenes and it should’ve been more. He’s hilarious and needed to be shown more.
I had hoped Dinner for Schmucks would be like a main course but turned out to be more like a dessert. The dessert is good, it’s not the main course but it’s still worth eating. The movie was good, nothing special but still worth checking out. You’re not missing much if you don’t but if you’re in the mood for a comedy, go see it.
